Run the same file on both PCs
Download YAVViewer.exe on both Windows PCs and open it. Choose Host on the PC being controlled, and Viewer on the PC you are using.
Both computers need the same build and a network path between them.
Keep the generated code private.
Download YAVViewer.exe on both Windows PCs and open it. Choose Host on the PC being controlled, and Viewer on the PC you are using.
Keep the host desktop signed in and unlocked. Click Start sharing this PC and wait for the listening status. Give the viewer the host IP address and generated 12-character code.
Enter the host address, port 7900 and secret code, then click Connect. Click inside the remote screen to control it. Stop sharing on the host ends access.
Use machines you own or have permission to control.
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The portable executable bundles Python and its libraries; no separate runtime is needed.
Screen capture and input operate on the signed-in desktop. Elevated apps, UAC prompts and lock screens are outside this beta’s supported scope.
There is no central relay or device-ID service.
Use the host’s local IP address. Allow the app on the appropriate trusted network when Windows Firewall prompts.
Use addresses reachable through a VPN you already manage. Verify connectivity between the two machines first.
If you manage the host router, forward TCP 7900 to the host and use its public address. Keep the generated random code; stop sharing when finished.
Check that Host says it is listening, the address and port are correct, and both PCs use the same build. Use Check this PC to save a diagnostic report.
Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F12 or click another local window. Click the remote screen to capture input again.
Close the viewer, or click Stop sharing on the host. Held remote keys and mouse buttons are released on disconnect.
